The Kiwanis Club of Hidden Valley - Escondido is one local community service club within Kiwanis International - - "a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one community and one child at a time."

Since 1963, the Kiwanis Club of Hidden Valley - Escondido has performed many community service projects in Escondido and San Diego County to serve the needs of children and families. Whether it is answering phones at the annual Radiothon for Rady Children's Hospital; or teaching young children to fish at our Annual Fishing Derby at Lake Dixon; or honoring fallen servicemen through our Project Hero program; or working with our KEY Clubs at San Pasqual High School and San Pasqual Academy - - the members of our club desire to "give back" to the Escondido community and make it a better place to live.

If you are interested in performing community service and helping children in Escondido, we encourage you to learn more about the Kiwanis Club of Hidden Valley-Escondido here on our website and welcome you to join us for an upcoming meeting or service project. Check our Information page or Activities Calendar for information about our meeting day, time and place; and upcoming service projects.

We welcome ALL community members to our meetings and projects.

"Hey Dad . . my first fish!"

Over 2400 pounds of trout were stocked in Lake Dixon this past week . .  and they were biting!!  The fishing was GREAT all weekend for all of the fishermen on the lake!!

Sunday Highlights

A little wind . . . high temperatures and lots of sun. . .great crowds . . .and lots of fish caught - including two tagged fish.  The Kiwanis Kiddie Pond was well attended with many new "anglers" catching their very first fish.

The derby came to an end at 4 pm and derby prizes and door prizes were awarded.

The winning fish was 6.05 pounds - caught on Saturday morning.

Two tagged fish were caught but they were not the $ 5000 prize winning fishes.  The winning tag is still swimming in Lake Dixon!

Thanks to the Escondido Senior Anglers for their help

with the Derby Weigh Station . . and with the Kiwanis

Escondido’s Hidden Valley Kiwanis Club will be hosting the 12th Annual “Trout Derby” on April TBD & TBD at Escondido’s own Lake Dixon. The Derby is our club’s primary fundraiser for supporting Escondido charities. The revenue generated from the Derby will be used throughout the year to support community and youth services projects within Escondido.

Our club has traditionally supported the Boy Scouts, Little League, North County Interfaith Crisis Center, Los Caballeros de Aventura, Pop Warner Football, Children’s’ Hospital, CROP (Convicts Reaching Out to People), Sister Clare’s and other worthy local charities. We sponsor a Key Club at San Pasqual High School to promote a spirit of community service among our youth. We also award scholarships to deserving Escondido High School District students.

Quarterly, we honor an injured service man or woman with our Project Hero Program - thanking them for their service to our country.

The Hidden Valley Kiwanis Club has always enjoyed a great partnership with the North County business community. We see this event as an opportunity for all to participate in supporting these charitable projects. We are asking you to participate with us through this event by purchasing one of these sponsor packages.
